7H and 7R students have been looking at what happens when an ice cube melts in their science lessons. They then wrote up their findings in French! (You can click on the images to enlarge them - this will open in a new window)
Daniel Diges is an experienced singer and actor, who cut his teeth as a live singer on stage. He was recently awarded the Spanish national theatre prize for the best musicals' actor. Diges has starred in the great majority of hit musicals which have been staged in Spain.
Besides music and theatre, Daniel has wide television experience as an actor in many drama and comedy series, and also as presenter and singer on a weekly children’s show.
It’s a story that only pop music could write. Lena Meyer-Landrut from Hanover is actually right in the middle of preparing for her high school exams. She’s doing Biology, Sport and History and she’s got a lot of revising to do. But now she’s going to be representing Germany at the Eurovision Song Contest in the Norwegian capital Oslo. On the 29th of May, 2010, just after her 19th birthday, she’ll be up on the big stage performing the song Satellite. “It’s going to be hard going up to the exams in April, but I’ll manage,” she says with a sigh. “Then it will almost be relaxing to head off to the Eurovision final.”
France will try to win the hearts of Europe in Oslo with a real summer hit this year. For that they handpicked the charismatic singer Jessy Matador.
Jessy Matador began his artistic career as a dancer in 2001. His artistic concept is a mixture of several styles, inspired by the famous African - Ivorian music ranging from hip-hop, jamaican dancehall and zouk.
He made his debut in the group called Les Coeurs Brisés with which he has performed all around the world. He started his singing career in 2008 and has scored a summer hit with the song Decale Gwada. Jessy is currently in the studio finishing his new album.
Yr13 are reading 'Como Agua Para Chocolate' by Laura Esquivel as part of the Spanish A2 course. They each took on a role, and debated which characted in the novel was the most important.
Below are the revision sessions timetables for Yr11 students. These sessions start the week beginning 22nd February. PLEASE NOTE THAT THE SPANISH AND GERMAN TIMETABLES HAVE BEEN AMENDED (Note added on 24th February).
Well done to all the hard-working Yr4 linguists at Ravenscote Primary who recently received a certificate for earning 10 'Contributions in class' stickers from Madame Boniface.
